Kutztown University Transfer Program

Lehigh Carbon Community College and Kutztown University are working together to ensure students have opportunities to meet their educational goals.

If you earn your associate degree from LCCC, you can transfer seamlessly to KU, entering as a junior.

Benefits to LCCC-KU transfer program

  • Earn your associate and transfer to KU with full junior status
  • Use “reverse transfer” process to earn an associate degree with KU credits
  • Access grants and scholarships

All transfer students with an associate degree receive a one-time book award of $500 and are eligible for a housing scholarship of $1,000 per year for two years.

In-state Pennsylvania students can save even more, with up to $5,000 in merit scholarships based on GPA.

Students who have earned their associate degree will be accepted as a full junior into KU.

Also, students will not be required to complete more than 60 credits to earn a 120-credit bachelor’s degree if they are transferring to a parallel degree program. Students are guaranteed admission as long as they meet the program criteria and there is capacity for additional students in the program.

Financial Aid

Students are encouraged to file the FAFSA to determine eligibility for financial aid, including scholarship opportunities for LCCC students transferring to Kutztown. Information is available from both LCCC and KU.

Grow PA Scholarship

This new scholarship program within the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) provides grants of up to $5,000 and begins in 2024-25. It rewards students who remain in Pennsylvania to work following college graduation.

Reverse transfer option

Students eating in Kutztown University CafeYou may be able to earn an associate degree from LCCC with the coursework you have been completing at KU. Kutztown University and Lehigh Carbon Community College have entered a partnership that allows students to complete their community college degree through the reverse transfer of college credits at no additional cost to you. Typically you will not have to complete course placement testing and can go directly to meeting with an advisor.
