Activities and Events for First Year Students
Making connections with LCCC faculty, staff, and students will make your experience more enjoyable and fun. Take a look at the upcoming events being offered this semester.
Peer Mentors are second year students who have been successful here at LCCC and are here to help first year students! They play a major role in facilitating the transition of new students to the LCCC community. Additionally, mentors share information about academic, personal, and social resources while working collaboratively with faculty, professional staff, and student staff from other areas on campus.
Students take their peers’ perspectives seriously therefore a positive peer mentoring relationship can be highly influential and beneficial for both parties. Mentees are more likely to feel comfortable sharing concerns and problems with students who have similar experiences.

What is a mentee?
A mentee is the name for the person being mentored, so in this case the mentee is the first year student who is able to come to their mentor for help.
By signing up to be a mentee, you will receive one on one interaction with your mentor and invites to special mentoring events!
